NFL rumors: Ravens insider wonders if Bears would trade veteran they just got from Patriots

The Baltimore Ravens are trying to get things in order contract-wise with Lamar Jackson. But other than that, their offseason has gone very well. And a Ravens insider wondered if the Bears would trade a veteran lineman they just got from the Patriots, according to ESPN.

“(Center) is the biggest hole on the roster after Baltimore didn’t use any of its 11 draft picks on (the position),” Jamison Hensley wrote. “The Ravens have gone from having a three-time Pro Bowl center in Tyler Linderbaum, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency, to a question mark in front of Jackson. There’s a good chance that Baltimore’s starting center is currently on another team’s roster.”

What will the Ravens do at the center position?

Maybe the Bears have the answer.

“Now, with (Iowa’s Logan) Jones being drafted in the second round by the Bears, it’s possible Chicago will be enticed to trade veteran center Garrett Bradbury,” Hensley wrote. “He’s a seven-year starter who was acquired from the New England Patriots in March for a 2027 fifth-round pick.”

A former first-round pick (2018 NFL Draft, No. 18 overall), Bradbury has started double-digit games in each of his seven seasons. And over the last two, he started 17 games each, with the Vikings in 2025 and the Patriots last year.

The Ravens currently list Corey Bullock as their starting center, according to ESPN. Jovaughn Gwyn, Danny Pinter, and Nick Dawkins are listed as backups.

However, Bullock hasn’t made an NFL start. Neither have Gwyn nor Dawkins. Pinter has 10 starting assignments in five NFL seasons.

Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said the team has a plan.

I have tremendous confidence in (offensive coordinator) Declan (Doyle) and [line coach] Dwayne Ledford,” DeCosta said. “Their comfort gives me comfort. As I said, the hunt goes on. Our scouts do a great job of finding players. I’m confident that when September rolls around, we’ll have our best team.”
