NBA rumors: Timberwolves, Suns named as Josh Giddey trade suitors

The Chicago Bulls have a chance at a franchise player with the No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft, and he’ll be added to a young team that is looking to build for years to come. The Bulls might not be done shifting some of their current roster, and there could be players still on the trade block. Josh Giddey is one player who several teams have shown interest in this offseason, including the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns.

“Lastly, the Suns have also done some background on Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey, HoopsHype has learned,” Michal Scotto of HoopsHype wrote.

The Timberwolves have also been on the prowl for a point guard, which is why they’ve shown interest in him, according to Darren Wolfson of KSTP.

“Another player of interest to the Wolves, per multiple league contacts: Bulls guard Josh Giddey. Just not sure how you pry him out of Chicago, and I like his fit with new coach Tiago Splitter,” Wolfson wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

It’s uncertain if the Bulls are willing to trade Giddey, but there were some questions that arose about his future on the team with Bryson Graham being hired as the executive vice president of basketball operations.

“Graham laid out in his press conference that he wants guys that are hard-nosed, can play on both ends of the court, athletic length. Those are the type of players that they’re going to be targeting moving forward. And quite honestly, when you look at this roster right now, there’s not many of those guys outside of Noah Essengue and Matas Buzelis. So it draws major questions about where Josh Giddey fits in with the future of this organization,” Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints said on Clutch Scoops.

It will be interesting to see what happens as the offseason continues and if any trade rumors continue to grow stronger.
