Knicks star Jalen Brunson’s debut book drastically moves up release date

Just over a month after Jalen Brunson announced his debut book following the New York Knicks’ championship win, the release date has been moved up.

In the initial announcement, a release date wasn’t shared, but the 2026 NBA Finals MVP said it’d come out “next year” in 2027. However, that is no longer the case.

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2026, Brunson announced the book’s new release date. Jalen Plays It All will now come out on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2026, two days before Thanksgiving.

Additionally, he shared some of the artwork done by illustrator Neely Daggett in his post. Fans only have to wait about three months to see even more.

“I’m excited to announce that my upcoming children’s book has a new (earlier) release date of November 24, 2026. Yes, November of this year!” he wrote. “I can’t wait to share more about this special project soon, but in the meantime, swipe to get a sneak peek of some of the amazing art by the book’s illustrator [Neely Daggett].”

It has been an eventful last couple of months for Brunson, to say the least. First, he led the Knicks to their first championship in 53 years. He was named Finals MVP after averaging 32.6 points per game. He also put the San Antonio Spurs away with his 45-point performance in Game 5.

Brunson also won several awards at the ESPYs. He took home Best Athlete (Men’s Sports), Best Championship Performance, and Best NBA Player. The Knicks also won Best Team.

During the 2025-26 regular season, Brunson averaged 26 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. In the postseason, he averaged 28.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game in 19 contests.

His debut book was one of the first announcements made after the NBA Finals. He is riding the wave of his recent success, and the Knicks are hoping to repeat during the 2026-27 season.
