Mike Vrabel, Patriots refuse to comment for big ESPN story on Dianna Russini scandal
ESPN wrote a big piece on Dianna Russini and her scandal with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel. After Russini resigned from The Athletic with an official statement shared on social media, it appears Vrabel and the Patriots are remaining mute.
Reports indicate that Vrabel, who is 50 years old, did not respond to ESPN’s request for comment on the situation, according to Ben Strauss of ESPN. Additionally, the Patriots also did not respond to any questions regarding Vrabel’s and Russini’s alleged relationship.
“Vrabel, the reigning AP NFL Coach of the Year, continues to coach the Patriots and is preparing for next week’s NFL draft,” said Strauss. “He did not respond to a request for comment… A spokesman for the Patriots did not respond to a question about whether it would review Vrabel’s relationship with Russini.”
Furthermore, Brian McCarthy, a spokesperson for the NFL, claimed that the league is not looking into Mike Vrabel’s behavior for the personal conduct policy, per Strauss.
“NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league is not reviewing Vrabel’s behavior as part of the league’s personal conduct policy, which states ‘Players, coaches, and executives are required to avoid ‘conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League,'” reported Strauss.
We’ll see just how long Mike Vrabel and the Patriots can avoid questions. They can’t avoid the situation and the questions forever. For now, he and the franchise seem to want to focus on the 2026 NFL Draft.
Vrabel was seen in scandalous photos with Russini at the Ambiente Sedona, an adult-only luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. He has not spoken with any media members since the situation became public.
