Lynx’s Olivia Miles pulls off feat not seen before in WNBA history

It will be fair to say that Olivia Miles has exceeded expectations thus far for the Minnesota Lynx. Picked second overall in the 2026 WNBA draft, the 23-year-old rookie entered historic territory after scoring 15 points in Minnesota’s recent 90-86 win over the Dallas Wings.

Miles, who also had six assists and two rebounds on the night, now has 49 points and 21 assists with an overall efficiency of 50% in her three games thus far, per a post on X by Timberwolves Muse. As a result, she became the first WNBA rookie to register at least 45 points and 20 assists in their first three games.

Of course, that is only one of the records she broke. Miles also joined Sue Bird, Candace Parker, Caitlin Clark and Nikki McCray as one of the very few players in league history to average at least 15 points and five assists through their first three games.

More specifically, Miles became only the third player in WNBA history to record at least 10 points and five assists in each of her first three career games, joining Bird and Parker. The Lynx selected Miles with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft after a dominant college career split between Notre Dame and TCU.

And well, she has proved worthy of the investment thus far. Through three games, she is averaging 16.3 points, seven assists, roughly 3.7 rebounds and one block per game while leading Minnesota in assists in every contest she has played.

Her debut against the Atlanta Dream immediately established the tone for her rookie campaign. Miles finished with 21 points and eight assists while operating as Minnesota’s lead creator offensively.

In the win over Dallas, she recorded 15 points, six assists, two rebounds and a block while shooting 7-of-12 from the field. Her total of 21 assists through three games also tied her for the fourth-most assists ever recorded by a player through their first three WNBA games.

Needless to say, Miles is already turning heads, and looks like a major win for Minnesota.
