Leeds vs Brentford prediction
One, or both, of the 100% winning records will have to come to an end on Sunday afternoon as Leeds and Brentford come to blows at Elland Road.
Leeds head into Sunday’s bout as ever-so-slight favourites for victory, aided by a vociferous home crowd for their first home game of the campaign following back to back away matches at Nottingham Forest to start the season.
Daniel Farke’s side won at the City Ground last weekend thanks to Anton Stach scoring the only goal of the game with a late free kick, while the German’s men returned to the same ground to dump Forest out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night following second half goals from Daniel James and James Justin.
Brentford have enjoyed a flying start to the new campaign, scoring nine goals across their two matches so far and conceding only one.
Keith Andrews’ side got their campaign off the perfect start with a demolition of Tottenham on Saturday evening in their opening Premier League match of the season, winning 3-0 in the end but it could easily have been more.
The Bees then carried their positive momentum through to Tuesday night with a 6-1 thrashing away from home against Championship side Birmingham as the west London side booked their place in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
With two very confident teams going head to head off the back of back to back victories and with almost nothing to separate them with the odds, a draw perhaps looks like the most logical outcome – a 1-1 draw looking the most likely.
Leeds vs Brentford tips
Both perfect records come to an end
One 100% record must come to an end on Sunday with both teams having won both of their matches so far this season.
There almost nothing to separate the two teams in the odds with both teams having impressed in their opening fixtures and with two strong forces locking horns a stalemate is inevitably the most likely outcome.
- Draw and both teams to score at 10/3 with Betfred
Igor Thia-goal
Only Erling Haaland scored more goals in the Premier League than Igor Thiago last season, after the Brentford striker bagged 25 goals in 40 matches across all competitions.
The Brazilian got off the mark for the new season in Tuesday’s big win at Birmingham, coming off the bench to bag the fifth goal less than two minutes after his introduction to the match.
- Igor Thiago to score at 11/8 with BOYLE Sports
Busy afternoon for Ampadu
The Leeds captain received at least four more yellow cards than any of his teammates last season and has already picked up his first of this with a caution late on in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup win in Nottingham.
- Ethan Ampadu to be carded at 5/2 with Betfred
