For one day, LeBron James gladly surrendered the spotlight.

Savannah James turned 40 on Thursday, August 27, and her husband welcomed the milestone with the kind of enthusiasm usually reserved for a championship celebration, Complex reports. LeBron posted an affectionate Instagram tribute that made his excitement impossible to miss.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY QUEEN!!! WE ALL ARE READY TO CELEBRATE YOU!! ESPECIALLY ME!” he wrote. “YOU’RE DESERVING OF ALL THE LOVE & VIBEZ YOU’LL RECEIVE TODAY & BEYOND!!”

The photo captured the couple walking hand in hand into an event. Savannah commanded attention in a fitted black dress finished with feathers along the hem, while LeBron complemented her look in a black suit and sunglasses.

He completed the message by declaring his endless love for Savannah and announcing that he felt ready to begin the festivities.

Savannah James Previously Defended LeBron

LeBron’s celebration arrived only weeks after Savannah addressed the cottage industry surrounding criticism of her husband.

During a July installment of “Everybody’s Crazy,” Savannah and co-host April McDaniel discussed the backlash connected to LeBron ending his eight-season tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers. McDaniel noted how much negativity follows a public figure at his level. Savannah responded with a blunt assessment of the people who continually analyze his every move.

“It’s crazy,” Savannah said. “People have definitely made careers out of talking about [LeBron].”

That observation carried weight coming from someone who has experienced intense public attention alongside him. Yet Savannah’s birthday tribute showed another side of that visibility.
