Bournemouth vs Everton prediction
Bournemouth stunned Man City last weekend in the opening weekend of the new season when they went 1-0 up inside the first half hour thanks to Marcus Tavernier.
It took City until the 84th minute to equalise after some stout defending from the Cherries and until the 92nd minute to get the winner courtesy of defenders Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol, respectively.
Everton on the other hand, won 2-0 with yet another clean sheet picked up by England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford when beating Crystal Palace relatively comfortably.
Bournemouth vs Everton betting tips
Pickford on top
The Cherries really did look like they could get away with a big shock in the opening weekend of the season but they were victims of more late drama in the Premier League.
Everton on the other hand, showed exactly what they’ve been capable of for a couple of seasons now and that is being resolute in defence – which could be another factor here.
Bournemouth do seem to be outperforming their expectations each season even when big players leave, others take their place and step up.
There were a range of players who stepped up last year in the Premier League to score including Junior Kroupi (13), Marcus Tavernier (7), Evanilson (6), Rayan (5), Alex Scott and Amine Adli (3).
Justin Kluivert only managed two last season yet seemed to be on the up for the Cherries going from seven in his first season to 12 in the next.
His season was marred by only appearing 20 times compared to almost every game and he could be another vital part of the Cherries this season alongside Tavernier and Rayan just in behind Brazilian striker Evanilson.
But Everton continually show they can keep clean sheets and frustrate teams and Bournemouth this season look like a team that could be lacking offensively at times and this could be the case early in the campaign.
Barry on fire
Thierno Barry scored in their 2-0 victory over Palace last weekend and then followed it up with an impressive hattrick against Preston in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
He will be fired up to continue that form with his confidence sky high, and if he can keep this up will be the answers Everton have long been looking for offensively – a consistent, goalscoring target man.
For a while Everton could have finished so much higher in the table had they backed up their defence with a more lethal attack, could this be the season?
