Kyle Walker, AJ Tracey and two Premier League managers join talkSPORT World Cup team

For a big World Cup, talkSPORT has gone big by recruiting some stellar names for its coverage.

Former England international Kyle Walker is part of the squad, along with British rapper and Tottenham fan AJ Tracey in addition to Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler and Everton boss David Moyes.

Emmanuel Petit – a World Cup winner in 1998 – former Netherlands and Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who also worked as Gareth Southgate’s England assistant, is also part of the line-up.

Brad Friedel, who played 82 times for the USA as a goalkeeper, and former referee Christina Unkel, are also on the roster.

talkSPORT will broadcast 104 matches taking place in America, Canada and Mexico, and for the first time ever, you can listen to talkSPORT’s coverage on TikTok and YouTube.

What talkSPORT shows will be in America?

For the first four weeks of the competition, White & Jordan will come live from the 50th Floor of the World Trade Center in New York, beginning at the different time of 1pm (BST).

Andy Goldstein, Darren Bent and the Drivetime team will take over from Sunday 5 July as the competition moves closer to the final on 19 July.

Every England game will be led by the formidable trio of Adrian Durham, England legend Stuart Pearce, and lead commentator Jim Proudfoot, with Faye Carruthers embedded in the camp as England correspondent.

Yes sir, I can boogie

Scotland’s journey in Group C, starting in Boston, will be chronicled by Natalie Sawyer and Joe Shennan, former Scotland international Mark McGhee and supported by Scotland correspondent Shebahn Aherne.

talkSPORT’s commentary teams boast more than 250 caps between them, which includes former England defender Martin Keown – a member of the 1998 and 2002 squads, Republic of Ireland’s 1994 star, Tony Cascarino, and former England Women’s striker Tash Dowie.

Beyond the match commentary, talkSPORT’s reporters will track every major storyline across the continent. Ben Jacobs will be in California embedded with the US national team, Alex Crook begins his journey in Dallas before heading to New York, while Andy Brassell will follow the final World Cup chapters of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Fan reporters Angelina Kelly and Harry Durham will be stationed in the heart of the fan zones to capture the raw emotion and atmosphere of the world’s biggest party.

What has been said?

When does the World Cup begin?

The action begins on 11 June when Mexico take on South Africa and ends in New York for the final on 19 July.

Scotland begin their campaign against Haiti on 14 June then play Morocco on 19 June – both in Boston – and it’s Brazil in Miami on 24 June.

England, meanwhile, start on 17 June against Croatia in Dallas then face Ghana in Boston on 23 June and go to New York to play Panama on 27 June.
