Ben Whittaker vs Conor Wallace undercard announced with debut of bright British prospect

Ben Whittaker’s homecoming fight will be supported by an undercard packed to the brim with up-and-coming talent.

Whittaker (12-0-1) headlines Birmingham’s Utilita Arena against Wallace (17-1) on October 3 in an IBF final eliminator bout.

The fight, which was first reported by talkSPORT.com, will determine the IBF mandatory challenger for unified WBA, IBF and WBO light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.

Six fights were added to the undercard by Matchroom Boxing on Tuesday, including the professional debut of 2025 World Amateur Championships bronze medallist, Odel Kamara.

“It starts October 3 in Birmingham,” said seven-time national champion Kamara, whose opponent has yet to be confirmed.

 “I promise to give the fans excitement so they know what I’m all about. This is the start to a busy end to the year.”

The co-main event features the British champion without a British passport, Bilal Fawaz (12-1-1).

Fawaz, 38, was trafficked to the United Kingdom at the age of 14 and has not travelled outside of the country since.

Despite this, he remains effectively stateless after repeatedly having his citizenship denied by the Home Office.

He makes the second defence of his British and Commonwealth super welterweight titles against Eithan James (17-2).

“I am delighted to announce my extension with Matchroom Boxing,” said Fawaz. 

“I believe I’ve delivered every opportunity I’ve had, but the journey is only just getting started. I will become World Champion.

“Even the strongest of men run from danger. I am that danger.”

Further down the bill, Hamza Uddin (6-0) challenges Sean Bruce (8-2) for the British and Commonwealth flyweight titles.

Uddin said: “On October 3rd I will put on the best performance of my life and send shockwaves through the division.

“I’ll be the first British Bengali fighter to win the British title, and that will be very special for me and my family.”

Elsewhere on the undercard is Ibraheem Sulaimaan (11-0), who defends his English Title against Sonny Hardy (12-0), and Aaron Bowen (8-1, 6 KOs), who challenges Klint Baptiste (5-0) for the Midlands Area Super Middleweight Title.

There is also a spot on the prelims for 19-year-old prospect Adam Maca (6-0).
