How Fast & Furious 11 could dash The Rock’s dream WWE match vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 43

For years, fans have wanted to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson vs. Roman Reigns, and there were rumors that the “Final Boss” would earn a big payday for WWE WrestleMania 43. However, his upcoming role in the 11th Fast & Furious movie, Fast Forever, may throw cold water on the dream match.

Vin Diesel recently revealed that Fast Forever begins shooting in December 2026. Generally, blockbuster movies take a few months to film. The Rock is going to star in it, and that means he will likely be busy for a few months.

Yes, the “Final Boss” could always show up and wrestle the “Tribal Chief.” However, it’s unknown if he would be able to show up on a weekly basis to build the match up. Time is ticking on The Rock, 54, vs. Reigns, 41, ever happening, and it might not happen next year.

Fans will have to wait and see what happens. It’s not impossible that The Rock makes it happen. As it stands, though, he will likely be busy throughout the winter and spring.

Will The Rock vs. Roman Reigns ever happen in WWE?

It’s unknown if The Rock vs. Reigns will ever happen. They are both part of the Anoa’i family, making a potential matchup fitting. WWE has been planting the seeds for years, dating back to The Rock congratulating Reigns on winning the Royal Rumble in 2015.

The match was seemingly going to happen at WrestleMania 40. Johnson came back out of nowhere to take that year’s Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes’ spot against the “Tribal Chief” at the Showcase of the Immortals.

While The Rock vs. Reigns is a dream match, WWE fans revolted against it. They started the #WeWantCody movement, setting Johnson’s heel turn into motion as he became the “Final Boss.”

Even though the Anoa’i family members never faced each other, they shared the ring at WrestleMania 40. They teamed up to defeat Rhodes and Seth Rollins. The tag team match determined the stipulation for Reigns vs. Rhodes the following night. The “Final Boss” would get physical the following night, too, but the “Tribal Chief’s” 1,316-day Undisputed WWE Championship run would end at the hands of the “American Nightmare.”
