Jake Paul hands Michael ‘Venom’ Page lifeline days after being brutally axed by UFC

Jake Paul is hoping to acquire Michael ‘Venom’ Page’s services after the Brit was given his marching orders by the UFC.

The Brit beat Nursulton Ruziboev of Uzbekistan via unanimous decision in yet another low-output display that drew boos from the fans in attendance.

While Page expressed a desire to re-sign with the UFC, he acknowledged that company brass weren’t happy with his recent performances.

His future was thrown further into the air when members of the media were informed on Monday that Page, who had been ranked No.15 at middleweight, was to be removed from the ratings.

When this was put to incumbent UFC president Dana White on Tuesday, he confirmed that Page would not be re-signed.

“That was his last fight on his contract,” White said during a Contender Series press conference.

“I don’t think we’re signing him, no. What’s the confusion?

“I think it’s been pretty clear that he wasn’t being re-signed, and that he would be taken out of the rankings, because he’s no longer on the roster.”

MVP to MVP?

All hope is not lost yet for Page, though, as the 39-year-old has been offered a lifeline by Jake Paul.

‘The Problem Child’s’ promotional outfit MVP recently completed a landmark merger deal with consensus No.2 MMA organisation PFL.

Under the terms of the merger, PFL will become MVP MMA in January, and Paul is hoping that Page will be one of the company’s first major acquisitions.

“Think it’s time to bring MVP to MVP,” Paul wrote on X earlier today.

Paul isn’t the only one vying for Page’s signature.

Bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKFC, which previously worked with Page for a fight against Mike Perry in 2022, has also expressed interest.

“We would be interested, yes,” BKFC president Dave Feldman said of a potential move for Page during a recent interview with Bloody Elbow.

“Number one, that’s first and foremost. Number two, is I think BKFC will force excitement out of ‘MVP’, and I think that the fans would love that.

“Can you imagine a year down the road or so, you’ve got Darren Till vs. ‘MVP’ in the UK? That would be a tremendous fight.”
