Bears’ Caleb Williams makes confession on ‘second-guessing’ Ben Johnson that fans won’t have to worry about anymore

The Chicago Bears had a solid season under head coach Ben Johnson last year, and they found themselves in the Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams, ultimately losing. Though they couldn’t go on a deeper playoff run, it’s obvious that they found gold on offense with Caleb Williams.

One thing that fans should be excited about is Williams being more comfortable under Johnson’s system, and he recently shared what’s different about this season.

“Obviously getting a new coach, you’re wondering how you’re going to gel on game day, how things are going to work out,” Williams said via Nicholas Moreano if Roundtable. “He was obviously probably wondering the same thing going into Week 1. I would say that’s the biggest thing, the confidence in myself and the playbook and the things that I know and recognizing defenses and checking the ball down, getting the ball into my guys’ hands, delivering a good ball. I think that’s where I’ve grown and where we’ve grown.”

This is good news for the Bears, and Williams could see another jump in his game because of his comfort level. The Bears will be leaning on him once again this season, and they’ve put the offensive talent around him to succeed.

For Johnson, he’s shown that he has ultimate belief in Williams, and that goes a long way on and off the field.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Bears fare this season, and they’ll have to get through a tough division. The Green Bay Packers are expected to be good again, and the Detroit Lions still have all the firepower on offense. It’s uncertain what the Minnesota Vikings will look like, but Kyler Murray might be the answer they’ve needed at quarterback since Kirk Cousins left.
