Jahmyr Gibbs will love Derrick Henry’s mic drop after Bijan Robinson deal
Bijan Robinson reset the NFL running back market Wednesday, agreeing to a historic $75 million deal. This impacts Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who’s having a contract hold-in during NFL Training Camp. Now Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry dropped a big prediction.
The veteran and two-time NFL rushing leader delivered this mic drop to Kay Adams on “Up and Adams” Wednesday.
“I already told Bijan congrats and the young goat deserves it. [But] Jahmyr is next,” Henry said.
“Jahmyr [Gibbs] is next.”

The past Alabama Crimson Tide running back believes his fellow Tide star will soon alter the market. Just like “King Henry” did years earlier.
Henry helped resurrect the power back and “RB1” role across the league during his prime. He emerged as the one who helped inspire the next wave of running backs, including Robinson and Gibbs.
Henry got asked if any younger running backs send him flowers. He denies receiving anything but says “our camaraderie is strong.”
Now the shifts focus to how the Lions approach Gibbs. He remains on his rookie deal which pays him $17.8 million for four seasons. Fortunately for the Lions and head coach Dan Campbell, Gibbs reported to camp and avoided a holdout.
However, Detroit already watched a prized running back leave recently in David Montgomery. The back known as “Knuckles” to Gibbs’ “Sonic” moniker landed with the Houston Texans during the NFL Free Agency period. Yet Montgomery’s departure should be enough to convince general manager Brad Holmes to lock in Gibbs into a wealthier contract.
