Giants game-by-game predictions after 2026 NFL Schedule release

The complete 2026 NFL regular season schedule has finally arrived! New York is ready to take the league by storm in 2026 after hiring John Harbaugh and making massive upgrades across the roster. The NFL seemingly recognized that the Giants could be a fun team to watch this fall, awarding them four primetime games.

Could the Giants compete for the NFC East division title in 2026?

Here are some game-by-game predictions for the Giants following the NFL schedule release.

Week 1 vs. Dallas Cowboys

What a way to open the new season.

The last time the Giants and Cowboys faced off on Sunday Night Football in Week 1, Dallas demolished New York 40-0. That is unlikely to happen in 2026 as the Giants and Cowboys are a much closer matchup.

Still, the pressure will be on New York to find ways to stop Dak Prescott and friend right away. Plus deal with Christian Parker’s new defense without any tape to study.

The Giants lose, but in respectable fashion this time.

LOSS

Record: 0-1

Week 2 at Los Angeles Rams

Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford are the perfect opponents to put New York’s fearsome defense to the test.

The Giants will need their defense to play at an elite level to have a shot in this game. They would also need a great day from Jaxson Dart and the offense too. After all, they have to keep pace with Matthew Stafford and friends.

Ultimately, the Rams are much too talented to lose this game.

LOSS

Record: 0-2

Week 3 vs. Tennessee Titans

Tennessee could surprise a few teams during the 2026 season. The Titans completely revamped their defense this offseason and added weapons for Cam Ward on offense.

When looking at the matchups, New York’s defense should be able to shut down Tennessee’s offense. That suggests that the Giants offense vs. the Titans defense could be the matchup that decides this game.

The Giants have home field advantage, which could be the difference.

WIN

Record: 1-2

Week 4 vs. Arizona Cardinals

No offense to the Cardinals, but they are a few years away from competing with the Giants.

Yes both teams will have brand new coaching staffs. But New York has an established head coach with a pristine resume, while Arizona has a first-time head coach. Those are completely different situations.

On top of that, the Giants are more talented on both sides of the football.

This should be an easy win for New York, barring some sort of disaster.

WIN

Record: 2-2

Week 5 at Washington Commanders

Gaining home field advantage will not be enough of an edge to guarantee the Commanders a win over the Giants.

New York gets the sweep over Washington.

WIN

Record: 3-2

Week 6 vs. New Orleans Saints

The Saints have an offense who can hang around against most opponents. But the Giants defense has enough firepower to dismantle Tyler Shough from wire to wire.

On the other side of the ball, New Orleans’ defense is unquestionably the weakest unit in this matchup. New York probably won’t have to fight too hard to gain an early lead in this one.

This game could end up closer than most Giants fans want to admit. But even if that is true, it should still be a convincing win for New York.

WIN

Record: 4-2

Week 7 at Houston Texans

The Texans and Giants have a lot of similarities on paper. Both teams have elite pass rush units that should make life difficult for their opponents next season.

Houston and New York both have solid offenses, though neither is truly a special unit. But the Texans have an overall better cast of characters on their offense. If Houston can protect CJ Stroud then they could be a problem for New York.

Houston gets the edge here based on the assumption that their offseason o-line overhaul actually pans out this fall.

LOSS

Record: 4-3

Week 8 – BYE WEEK

Week 9 at Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants have a hard time winning games on the road against the Eagles. In fact, the last time New York beat Philly at Lincoln Financial Field was October 27th, 2013.

That is one unfortunate record that New York will look to erase during this new Harbaugh era. But they may have to wait until next season.

It feels like the Eagles and Giants will split their series this year.

LOSS

Record: 4-4

Week 10 vs. Washington Commanders

Washington and New York both seem to have similar DNA in terms of how both teams are currently being built.

Both teams have mobile quarterbacks and ascending defenses, though the Giants are miles ahead in that department. It will be fascinating to watch how each team continues building their roster in future seasons.

But in 2026, the Giants feel one or two steps ahead in a few key areas. Those include the actual talent on the roster and their coaching staff.

Anything can happen in divisional matchups, but New York should have an easy time with Washington this year.

WIN

Record: 5-4

Week 11 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville surprised a lot of teams when they went 13-4 in 2025. But that shouldn’t be the same during the 2026 season.

The Jaguars feel like a team that took a step back during the offseason, while the Giants got a whole lot better.

New York should win this game.

WIN

Record: 6-4

Week 12 at Indianapolis Colts

This feels like the game with the biggest blowout potential on New York’s entire schedule.

Indy’s entire offense is built off having a strong running game, which makes sense with Jonathan Taylor still playing at an elite level. But New York has the defensive talent needed to bottle him up for most of a game.

Meanwhile, Daniel Jones is coming off an Achilles injury and may not have his full mobility for this game. If that happens, then Jones could be in serious danger with Brian Burns and Abdul Carter hunting him down.

This game could get ugly in a hurry if the Giants get an early lead.

WIN

Record: 7-4

Week 13 vs. San Francisco 49ers

Will the 49ers actually be healthy for this game?

Remember, San Francisco made the playoffs in 2025 and beat Philadelphia all while dealing with several significant injuries. Even that version of the 49ers has a shot against the 2026 Giants.

If the 49ers are at full strength, they’ll find a way to beat the Giants.

LOSS

Record: 7-5

Week 14 at Seattle Seahawks

Seattle let a lot of talent walk out the door during NFL free agency. That could be a problem for the Seahawks during the 2026 season.

However, Seattle still has the league’s best defensive scheme under Mike Macdonald. That is a huge advantage over every other team until the league collectively finds a way to attack that scheme.

The Giants have the ability to rattle QB Sam Darnold and slow down the Seahawks on offense. But it would be shocking if they put up a lot of points on Seattle’s defense.

LOSS

Record: 7-6

Week 15 vs. Cleveland Browns

The Giants just had the type of offseason that the Browns would love to have in 2027.

Cleveland has some talented young players on the roster and could take a big leap forward in the future once adding a franchise quarterback. What that means for 2026 is that New York and Cleveland are not on the same level.

The Giants would have to put up a stinker to lose this game, especially on their home turf.

WIN

Record: 8-6

Week 16 at Detroit Lions

This matchup may come down entirely to how well the Lions can protect QB Jared Goff.

If the Giants cannot get consistent pressure on Goff, then he will dice them up for the entire game. Meanwhile, New York could potentially demolish Detroit’s offense if they rattle Goff early in this game.

New York’s offense on Detroit’s defense is a pretty even matchup that probably won’t have as big of an impact.

Let’s give New York the edge here, even with Detroit’s improved offensive line.

WIN

Record: 9-6

Week 17 at Dallas Cowboys

If the Giants cannot beat the Cowboys at home, they’ll have an even tougher time at Jerry World.

Dallas sweeps New York for the first time since 2023.

LOSS

Record: 9-7

Week 18 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

It will be interesting to see how Philadelphia’s offense functions in 2026. How much will they go away from Saquon Barkley and emphasize throwing the football?

New York could steal a game away from Philly if their offense starts the season off a bit sluggish.

Perhaps the Giants can win a one-score game at home.

WIN

Record: 10-7
