Former WWE Women’s Champion’s injury gets unfortunate SummerSlam timeline update

Things aren’t looking great for former WWE Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer, who may be out of action for a while with her injury, if the latest update is any indication.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select (via Sports Illustrated) reports that Vaquer will be out for a long time. While there’s “some optimism” she’ll be back in time for SummerSlam in Minneapolis in August, she’ll be out “at least six weeks.”

The injury she is dealing with hasn’t been disclosed yet. In WWE canon, she was put on the shelf by Liv Morgan following their WrestleMania 42 match. However, it appears she has been dealing with something for a while, but she kept pushing through until WrestleMania.

When will Stephanie Vaquer return to WWE from her injury?

There’s not a firm timetable for Vaquer’s return from injury. While six weeks appears to be the optimistic timeline, only time will tell if that’s true.

Hopefully, it’s sooner rather than later. Vaquer and Morgan’s feud does not appear to be over, so the sooner La Primera can return, the better.

Vaquer’s Women’s World Championship came to an end after 210 days at WrestleMania 42. She lost the title to 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Morgan.

To win the title originally, Vaquer beat Iyo Sky at Wrestlepalooza. The title was vacant at the time, and Vaquer earned his shot at the title by winning the battle royal at Evolution a couple of months earlier.

Now, Morgan is beginning her third reign as Women’s World Champion. She won the 2026 Royal Rumble after coming so close in previous years.

Morgan is one of the leaders of the Judgment Day stable. She and her Judgment Day stablemate, Raquel Rodriguez, have won the Women’s Tag Team Championship a record-setting four times. The rest of the current Judgment Day lineup includes Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Roxanne Perez.
