Chris Brazzell II injury situation takes turn for worst with season-ending surgery decision
The Carolina Panthers have had some terrible injury luck just days into training camp. Carolina watched both Nic Scourton and Chris Brazzell II suffer devastating injuries just one week apart from each other. Unfortunately, the worst possible outcome has come to pass for the rookie wide receiver.
Brazzell has decided to undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee, per The Athletic’s Joseph Person.
The Panthers initially planned to go with a non-surgical path for Brazzell’s recovery from his moderate LCL tear. In fact, Brazzell was only expected to miss up to eight weeks for his recovery. That would have seen him return to practice early in the 2026 season.
However, Brazzell and the Panthers changed their mind after getting a second opinion on the injury.
