How Browns feel about potential Jadeveon Clowney reunion

The Cleveland Browns are making it clear they want to bring veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney back to the organization after a productive visit earlier this week.

NFL Network’s Jordan Schultz reported Thursday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Browns general manager Andrew Berry confirmed the team’s interest in signing Clowney following Tuesday’s meeting. Andrew Siciliano later shared more of Berry’s comments on X, reinforcing Cleveland’s desire to complete a deal.

“Really good visit. Things that we still have to work through. Hopeful that we can add him to the team.”

Schultz also reported:

Schultz previously reported Wednesday that Clowney’s visit with Cleveland was considered successful and that both sides planned to remain in contact after weeks of discussions. He also noted that an NFC West team had emerged as a serious contender for the veteran pass rusher’s services. Schultz later identified the Seattle Seahawks as that team.

“It’s unclear if he’ll take another visit as of this moment.”

Jadeveon Clowney weighs Browns reunion amid Seahawks interest

A reunion would bring Clowney back to Cleveland, where he spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons and teamed with Myles Garrett to form one of the Browns’ top pass-rushing duos. Clowney recorded 11 sacks over those two seasons before departing in free agency.

Since leaving the Browns, the 33-year-old has continued to provide veteran production while playing for multiple teams. He spent the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens, joined the Carolina Panthers in 2024 and finished the 2025 campaign with the Dallas Cowboys.

Clowney appeared in 13 games for Dallas last season, totaling 41 tackles, including 24 solo stops, while recording 8.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, four passes defended and seven tackles for loss.

With both the Browns and Seahawks pursuing him, Clowney now appears to have multiple options as he weighs the next stop in his NFL career.
