Fantasy Football managers will take note of Saints’ Travis Etienne Jr., Alvin Kamara depth chart listing

The New Orleans Saints made a major statement when they signed running back Travis Etienne to a four-year, $48 million contract. But their rushing attack became a bit more complicated when Alvin Kamara’s contract was restructured.

With both now officially in New Orleans’ running back room, fantasy football managers in particular may have a tough time deciding each player’s value. Figuring out how to rank both Etienne and Kamara became even more difficult when the Saints released their first unofficial depth chart, via Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football.

The fact Etienne OR Kamara is listed as RB1 muddles up both of their standing. Once the season looms closer, it’ll be clear who the true lead back is. It’ll become even more evident once regular season games take place. But for now, both running backs seem poised to have a feature role in the run game.

The Saints wouldn’t dole out that much money if they didn’t expect Etienne to tote the rock. Over his four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he turned 897 rushing attempts into 3,798 yards and 25 touchdowns. Over the next four years, he should play a crucial role in whatever New Orleans does on the ground.

Kamara has already crafted his legacy with the Saints, being named to five Pro Bowls. While he is coming off a rough season, the running back has always operated as a dual threat when on the field. It wouldn’t be shocking to see New Orleans find ways to pass Kamara the ball in open space.

Head coach Kellen Moore still has come crucial decisions to make across the roster. One of them will be who is the Saints’ official RB1. Fantasy football fans will be patiently waiting for Moore to make his choice.
