Dodgers’ Kyle Tucker returns to lineup vs. Padres after back issue

As Los Angeles Dodgers star Kyle Tucker has been dealing with a back injury, fans have been wondering when the player would come back to turn around what’s been a disappointing season thus far. While people had been awaiting any injury updates to the Dodgers star in Tucker, the latest lineup for Friday’s game against the San Diego Padres provides the answer fans are looking for.

Los Angeles’ batting lineup for Friday in San Diego would show Tucker slotted in at the sixth spot, as this comes after the 29-year-old missed two games.

“The Dodgers lineup for their series opener vs the Padres in San Diego,” Dodgers Nation wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Kyle Tucker returns after missing two full games, Roki Sasaki is on the mound, and Shohei Ohtani is leading off. LET’S GO!”

When initially suffering a back issue, Tucker would express how he was “pretty confident” that a stint on the injured list (IL) wasn’t necessary. This would be echoed by Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, though he was still cautious with everything.

“I think that the four days, with the off-day, would be a middle [route],” Roberts said Tuesday, via MLB.com. “And so hopefully he has taken advantage of this, obviously to get right, but also kind of a mental reset. Hopefully, the four days will suffice.”

“He said he’s good to go,” Roberts said. “So that doesn’t carry too much weight until I hear from the medical staff. But it is good to know that he said he’s good to go. My hope is that he’ll be available off the bench in some capacity [today].”

At any rate, Tucker looks to improve with Los Angeles after recording a .234 batting average, six home runs, and 40 RBIs in 75 games.
