Chiefs insider debunks viral Travis Kelce AI beer-gut videos

No, despite what the internet will have you believe, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce didn’t show up to training camp out of shape with a beer belly, which was what some AI-generated videos suggested.

The Athletic’s Chiefs insider, Jesse Newell, debunked the rumors in the outlet’s live updates from NFL training camps around the league, showing a real picture of the tight end.

As the picture shows, he looks trim and doesn’t have any kind of gut. Needless to say, he looks ready to roll ahead of his 14th season in the NFL.

Travis Kelce is in his 14th training camp with the Chiefs

Kelce is currently in the midst of his 14th training camp as a pro. He was drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Cincinnati. He decided to return to the Chiefs, re-signing on a three-year deal during the offseason, for the 2026 season.

The Chiefs are coming off a disappointing year, during which they went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Individually, it was not a bad year for Kelce, who caught 76 passes for 851 yards and five touchdowns. This was a vast improvement over his 2024 season, during which he logged 97 catches for 823 yards and three touchdowns.

Training camp will continue throughout August. Their first preseason game will be played on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, against the Los Angeles Rams.

One month later, they will open the regular season against the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs will then play the Indianapolis Colts, the Miami Dolphins, and the Las Vegas Raiders in the following weeks.
