MLB rumors: Jon Heyman names 6 Casey Mize trade suitors as Tigers debate path after Tarik Skubal deal
The Detroit Tigers were a part of the biggest deal of the MLB trade deadline so far, trading Tarik Skubal to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even with the trade, the Tigers are still trying to make a playoff push and are in a perfect position to climb up the standings.
That has led some to believe that they’re taking Casey Mize off the trade block, but there are several teams interested in him, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman.
“Casey Mize (2.70 ERA) is out there but he’s an interesting case since Tigers are only 2.5 out of wild card now. D-Backs, Braves, Cubs, Rays, maybe Padres, Yankees, more possible,” Heyman wrote.
