Trevoh Chalobah set to leave Chelsea for Champions League club as deal agreed

Como have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea to sign Trevoh Chalobah, talkSPORT understands.

The deal is worth €30million (£25.7m) as a fixed fee, with €6m (£5.1m) in add-ons.

A sell-on clause has also been agreed for the England international.

Chalobah will return to Champions League football with Como, who make their competition debut in the new season.

The 27-year-old is set to leave Chelsea after nearly two decades at the club having joined their academy in 2007.

Since starting to play regularly for the first team in 2021, he has made 151 appearances across all competitions and scored eight goals.

Chalobah departs after winning two Club World Cups, the FA Cup, the Super Cup and Conference League.

Changes at the back

He is unlikely to be the only centre-back departure from west London this summer.

Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile have been linked exits having fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Disasi, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, is understood to have attracted interest from AC Milan and Roma.

Napoli are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea to sign Badiashile.

Levi Colwill looks set to start at centre-back alongside their new £52m signing Maxence Lacroix.

Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mamadou Sarr are also options for manager Xabi Alonso.

The trio, as well as Colwill, have all played during their pre-season tour in Sydney, with Chelsea now in Hong Kong for the next leg.

Chalobah will be the fourth major summer sale after Marc Cucurella, Tyrique George and Andrey Santos.

In terms of incomings, six other players have joined Lacroix as fresh faces in SW6.

Marco Palestra, Emmanuel Emegha and Geovany Quenda were all brought in earlier in the window.
