Terence Crawford’s 42-year-old former foe inks bare-knuckle boxing deal

Henry ‘Hammerin’ Hank’ Lundy has become the latest notable boxer to ditch the gloves.

The 42-year-old veteran has inked a multi-fight deal with fast-rising bare-knuckle boxing promotion BKB, following in the footsteps of Victor Ortiz, Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Jr, and Lee Selby.

Lundy compiled a 32-14-1 professional record during a career spanning over two decades.

He succeeded at regional level, winning the NABF lightweight title and defending it twice.

However, as his career progressed, he became a measuring stick for the divisional elite.

In 2016, Lundy challenged Terence Crawford for the WBO super lightweight title, but was halted in five rounds.

Now, he has the opportunity to win a world title in a different sport.

“I’ve spent my entire career proving I’m willing to fight anybody, anywhere,” said Lundy.

“That’s exactly what BKB is about. No excuses, no hiding, just fighting.

“The Trigon rewards real fighters, and that’s what I’ve always been.

“I’m excited to start this new chapter and chase another
championship in the purest form of boxing.”

Lundy’s debut is set to be announced in the coming weeks, with the action being streamed on the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel.
