Lynx troll Sophie Cunningham with savage IG post after beating Fever

The Minnesota Lynx and head coach Cheryl Reeve got the last laugh on Sunday. Minnesota defeated Indiana 108-100 in a hard fought battle that featured plenty of scoring from the opening tip off. One contentious Fever player caught the ire of the Lynx’s social media team following the big game.

Minnesota trolled Fever guard Sophie Cunningham with a savage post on Instagram after the decisive victory.

The Lynx posted a small montage of images showing superstar Napheesa Collier attempting 3-point shots. Half of the images show Collier making those attempts with Cunningham defending her. The other half of the images are Collier celebrating that each shot went in.

Minnesota’s post was also captioned with the quote: “talk that talk ”

One reason for this post could be the viral pregame conversation between Cunningham and Reeve. Cunningham has expressed her desire to keep transgender athletes out of women’s sports. Meanwhile, Reeve has gone to bat for the LGBTQ community numerous times.

Reeve wore a shirt with the words “Trans Kids Belong” during Sunday’s game. She also had a conversation with Cunningham before the game that seemed to end cordially.

This is what Reeve said when asked about that pregame conversation.

“I think it’s great, I think both of us understand that we have platforms and we both talked about more than anything wanting to educate and there’s some things we have in common and maybe some things you differ on, just like any issues,” Reeve said, per Andrew Dukowitz. “I think it’s how you handle things and so it was nice to be in person for sure.”

The next time that Indiana and Minnesota play each other is September 22nd in Indianapolis. It will be interesting to see if Reeve and Cunningham continue their dialogue at that time.

In the meantime, the Lynx are getting ready to host the Sparks in their next matchup. That contest tips off at 9PM ET on August 6th from Target Center.
