MLB rumors: Red Sox, Orioles trending toward making huge Adley Rutschman trade

Buckle up, everyone! A massive blockbuster trade is on the verge of being completed by two AL East division rivals. This does not happen often, folks. The Boston Red Sox are trending toward acquiring rising star catcher Adley Rutschman from the Baltimore Orioles. Multiple reports have surfaced from legit insiders.

In fact, huge Red Sox supporter and media insider Jared Carrabis has already confirmed that the trade has gone through on his live podcast. We will see if it comes to fruition.

As noted above, Rutschman is on the IL with a wrist injury. A physical could take time for this trade to go through, but if it does, then the Sox have landed the best catcher on the market and one who gives the Sox a very deep lineup. The two positions Boston wasn’t elite at were catcher and shortstop, and now they get a former No. 1 overall pick at one of them. They are keen on trading for a shortstop as well, and could land Zach Neto or others at some point on Monday.

Moments after these reports arrived, another massive trade was completed by the Orioles. The O’s have traded away outfielder Taylor Ward to the Seattle Mariners, via Jeff Passan.

Not a moment goes by that general managers are not on the phone. Stay tuned for more updates, rumors, and trades in what is turning into a chaotic trade deadline day.
