Chargers’ Jim Harbaugh completely ducks Brendan Sorsby draft question
Brendan Sorsby is receiving one month to prepare for the NFL thanks to his supplemental draft entry. The debate rages on regarding where the now former Texas Tech quarterback will land. But Jim Harbaugh of the Los Angeles Chargers ducked the thought on Thursday.
Harbaugh got asked about Sorsby and his supplemental draft appearance. But he dropped this answer to reporters.
“I really don’t have the information,” Harbaugh said.
The now third-year Chargers head coaching leader doubled down on his Sorsby take.
“I stand here not knowing the details. I’ll pass,” he added.
Harbaugh’s answer paints the vivid picture Justin Herbert doesn’t need backup quarterback help. The Chargers coach already gleamed about the 2026 weapons Herbert now has at his disposal. Harbaugh even believes wide receiver Quentin Johnston is capable of delivering a career season with the team. Especially after making key strides from his disappointing rookie season.
But the new talk of the summer is the controversial former college QB Sorsby.
The Cincinnati Bearcats transfer arrived to Lubbock as one of the nation’s top transfers. Sorsby delivered 27 touchdowns and sustained only five interceptions in 2025 before heading to TTU.
Sorsby hit turbulence early in his now truncated Texas Tech tenure, though. He violated the NCAA’s gambling rule and faced suspension for the entire 2026 season. A Lubbock judge ruled in his favor, however, and blocked the NCAA’s attempt to wipe away his upcoming ’26 campaign, ultimately getting handed a two-game suspension.
But the Big 12 intervened with a 47-page complaint and threatened sanctions against Texas Tech. Sorsby ultimately dipped out of TTU to embark on his sudden NFL journey.
