Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell gets her flowers from Olivia Miles after titanic Indiana-Lynx clash

As Indiana Fever star Kelsey Mitchell shined against the Minnesota Lynx, despite the 108-100 loss on Sunday afternoon, there is no doubt a huge fan of hers is rookie Olivia Miles. With the Lynx’s Miles having a monster game against the Fever, she would speak after the game about Mitchell.

Miles would finish the game scoring 28 points on 11 of 14 shooting from the field, three of six from three-point range, to go along with six assists and four rebounds. However, Mitchell was lights out on Sunday, scoring a game-high 37 points on 14 of 21 shooting from the field, six of eight from deep, as Miles would speak on how “special” the Indiana guard is and the matchup on Sunday.

“She’s special, and I say this time and time again, she’s also a great human,” Miles said. via Andrew Dukowitz. “She garners a lot of respect both on and off the court… I literally just told her like ‘you’re so tough’ like I don’t know how the hell ‘like what do you eat’ and she was just laughing and telling me to ‘stay inspired and keep growing the game.'”

The praise from Miles to Mitchell started when the Minnesota rookie spoke to ESPN’s Holly Rowe at halftime, explaining how the Fever star gave her a “Welcome to W moment.”

“It’s so fun playing with great guards,” Miles said, via SportsCenter. “You know, Kelsey Mitchell is really the one that’s killing us right now. I’m just kind of in awe watching her. Like this is low-key my ‘Welcome to the W moment,’ just trying to guard her. But it’s so fun, you know. We have respect for each other, so it’s fun.”

At any rate, Indiana looks to bounce back from the loss to the Lynx as they next face the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.
