Harry Kane urged to consider Tottenham return in grovelling apology

Could Harry Kane return to Tottenham this summer and try to break Alan Shearer’s long-standing Premier League goal record?

Well, if the England captain ends up hearing talkSPORT host and Spurs fan Majestic’s plea, he may end up considering it.

Kane’s future has been widely spoken about, with his contract at Bayern Munich running out in the summer of 2027.

He has been attracting interest from Barcelona, while Chelsea have been tipped to make a potential move for him.

However, Bayern remain confident that the record-breaking striker will end up signing a new deal and talkSPORT understands that he is settled in Germany having spent the last three years there.

But could a return to Tottenham tempt him home?

Last month, talkSPORT commentator Ian Danter tipped Kane’s England teammate Jude Bellingham to return to his boyhood club Birmingham City before he turns 30.

And Majestic used that example before setting out his plea for the 33-year-old to come back and play for his boyhood club Spurs.

‘It’s time to come home’

He began with a grovelling apology, saying: “Mr Harry Kane. I’ve apologised to you already before, as when you first left you broke my heart and I didn’t want you to win anything. But Harry’s won – he’s a world-class striker.

“You’ve done it in Germany, you’ve won. I don’t personally see Bayern winning the Champions League anytime soon, Arsenal are more likely to win it.”

Then, Majestic sent a message directly to Bayern and Kane, looking down the camera in the talkSPORT studio and adding: “Bayern, you’ve had a great time with Harry, he’s won you the league.

“We’re going to give you the money back, so you will get £81million back, the release clause, bang, straight away, we’ll trigger that.

“Harry, come home. We’ll give you £400,000 a week, big numbers, but he deserves it, a world superstar.”

Majestic then went on to lay out a plan that Kane could follow in his bid to become the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer, as he still sits 47 goals behind Alan Shearer‘s record of 260 goals.

“Roberto De Zerbi says to him: ‘Look, it’s one season without European football, which allows you to have a bit more of a rest after a long season and a World Cup… it gives you the focus of scoring goals in the Premier League, you don’t have to play in the League Cup,” he continued.

“You are that close to Alan Shearer’s record. If you have a good season this year, scoring 20+, which is very possible to do, you could become a Bundesliga champion, England’s greatest goalscorer, Tottenham’s greatest goalscorer and possibly the Premier League’s greatest ever goalscorer.

“This is Harry Kane’s legacy set in stone. People can’t say he hasn’t won anything, he’s gone and done that. Now he can come home and push Spurs on.

“Come on Harry, it’s time to come home, it’s good for you, it’s good for us, it’s good for Bayern, let’s do it.”

Kane’s record at Spurs

Kane left Tottenham in pursuit of a trophy and he’s now done so – so could Majestic get his wish and see him return?

The 121-cap England international is Spurs’ all-time top goalscorer, netting 280 goals in 435 appearances for the club.

He came through their academy in 2009 after five years in the set-up, playing for the first team over a 14-year period.

His incredible form in the Premier League was never rewarded with a title, but he has scored 213 goals in the top flight.

With Spurs, Kane also became the first player to score 100 away goals in the Premier League and beat Thierry Henry‘s record for the most goals in London derbies, among many other achievements.

Majestic mentioned his legacy and he certainly has one in North London – but could he add another chapter to his story?
