Caleb Wilson, Dailyn Swain set the bar high with Rookie of the Year expectations

The Chicago Bulls have much to be thankful for following the NBA Draft. They drafted Caleb Wilson out of North Carolina as the No.4 pick. Then, the Bulls drafted No.15 Dailyn Swain out of Texas.

On Friday, both rookies took part in their introductory press conference at the Advocate Center in Chicago. Sitting alongside VP of Basketball Operations Bryson Graham, Wilson and Swain didn’t waste any time in setting high expectations for the two of them.

Wilson spoke into his existence, winning Rookie of the Year, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network.

“I expect to have Rookie of the Year, honestly” he said.

Meanwhile, Swain expressed a strong desire to prove the doubters wrong after some questioned his decision to choose him over Cameron Carr.

“It’s an added chip on my shoulder when people say ‘overdrafted’…it’s an added motivation piece to just prove myself,” Swain said.

At the same time, Wilson, understanding that he will be a central focus, is taking the role of leader in stride.

“I know I’ll step in and be a leader by leading by example and making sure that I get this city to back to where it was….I’m excited to get to work. It’s time to go.”

Wilson is the guy who lives up to Graham’s SLAP acronym: Size, Length, Athleticism, and Physicality. Swain is a playmaker and a versatile defender.

The Bulls are in the midst of turning a new leaf under the leadership of Bryson Graham. After years of stagnation and underperformance, Chicago is becoming an organization committed to adaptability.
