Bryce Young reveals secret behind best Panthers camp ever in contract year

The Carolina Panthers look ready to take a big leap forward in 2026. Carolina looked good in the playoffs last year and spent the offseason reloading the roster with talented players. The Panthers are hoping that their franchise quarterback will continue his development ahead of a crucial 2026 campaign.

Panthers quarterback Bryce Young revealed how he’s kept a positive mindset during training camp this year.

“I try to feed off the people around me. All of us are pushing each other, wanting to be at our best,” Young said on Sunday, per The Athletic’s Joe Person. “Coaching staff challenging me, challenging all of us to take that next step system-wise. It’s just about having that growth mindset.”

Young has struggled throughout most of his NFL career after being the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. But Young started turning things around in 2025 and will look to build off that momentum this fall.

The 25-year-old quarterback had his first 3,000-yard season in 2025 and posted career bests in almost every statistical category. Now the pressure is on to take the leap in 2026.

Carolina is reportedly in no rush to extend Young as he nears the end of his rookie contract. As a result, the Panthers may need to see a big improvement from Young before feeling comfortable paying him a big-money deal.

Fortunately, Young does not seem to be burdened by that pressure during training camp.

“For me, I just try to be where my feet are, make sure I’m focused. Whatever happens in the future, happens in the future,” Young added. “When you start thinking about that, you’re not able to focus on where you’re at.”

It is good to see that Young is in good spirits ahead of his contract year.

Hopefully Carolina has a special season this fall that finally shows that Young was worthy of being the first overall pick.
