Ric Flair’s confusing post after reconciling with ex-partner Wendy goes viral for the wrong reasons

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently announced his reconciliation with ex-wife Wendy Barlow on social media. However, his social media post soon went viral for all sorts of wrong reasons. Fans were baffled and infuriated by Flair’s choice of words and found the post demeaning and insulting to Wendy. Flair, 77, real name Richard Morgan Fliehr, separated from his fourth wife, Wendy Barlow, in 2024 after 13 years of marriage.

In 2018, Flair married Wendy Barlow. The couple met during Flair’s run in WCW back in 1993, where Barlow appeared as Fifi the Maid. After four marriages, Flair wed Barlow in 2018; however, they clarified they were never actually legally married. The couple never applied for a marriage certificate. In Jan. 2022, they separated, before reconciling in May that same year. They again split in Sept. 2024 and finished their 13-year relationship. However, after a gap of two years, they are again back.

On Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, the 16-time WWE champion announced that he had reconciled with Barlow, 58. However, “The Nature Boy’s” way of announcing their reconciliation made fans angry.

The controversial post currently has over 2 million views and over 1000 reposts & quotes. Fans found Flair’s statement on Barlow extremely offensive and felt the need to have their opinions known. Fans were left both confused and angry with the post, while failing to understand whether the words or out of love or insults.

“Holy Moses, Ric. This is maybe the worst backwards compliment I’ve ever seen,” one fan wrote. Another person commented, “Nothing shows true love and respect like cutting a wrestling promo on the woman that wants to be with and take care of you by disrespecting her publicly to boost your fragile ego.” “Did you just do a promo on your own girl??” asked another fan. “Ric you’re a hero to many but you sound like a raging misogynist here who doesn’t respect his wife,” wrote one more person.

Neither Flair nor his daughter, Charlotte Flair, have officially addressed the social media post or said anything remotely related to it.
