Brawl Stars Gene Guide – Attacks & Stats Per Level
Gene’s Main attack, Smoke Blast, is a medium range attack with slow travel speed and low damage output. If the attack doesn’t hit anyone at the apex of its range, the projectile splits into six weaker projectiles that spread out even farther.
Gene’s Super, Magic Hand, lets him shoot a giant hand that goes past obstacles. This long range attack pulls any enemy it comes into contact with back to Gene, destroying any obstacles along the way. It can pull stationary spawns like the Super turrets from Jessie, Pam, Penny, and 8-Bit. However, it cannot pull Heist Safes or objective items like Gems.
Furthermore Gene’s Hypercharge, Hyper Hands, lets Gene shoot three hands for his Super, each one pulling the enemy towards him. Furthermore, the Super pulls enemies back faster and don’t destroy obstacles upon return.
Additionally, let’s take a look at Gene’s stats (as of August, 2026):
| POWER LEVEL | HEALTH | Main Attack Damage | Main Attack Split Damage – Per Projectile |
| 1 | 3800 | 1000 | 166 |
| 2 | 4180 | 1100 | 182 |
| 3 | 4560 | 1200 | 198 |
| 4 | 4940 | 1300 | 214 |
| 5 | 5320 | 1400 | 230 |
| 6 | 5700 | 1500 | 246 |
| 7 | 6080 | 1600 | 262 |
| 8 | 6460 | 1700 | 278 |
| 9 | 6840 | 1800 | 294 |
| 10 | 7220 | 1900 | 310 |
| 11 | 7600 | 2000 | 326 |
Brawl Stars Gene Guide – Which Star Powers & Gadgets are the best?
Overall, Gene has two gadgets:
- Lamp Blowout – “All enemies close to Gene are instantly pushed back. If at least one enemy Brawler is within range, Gene will also restore a portion of his max health.”
- Vengeful Spirits – “Gene shoots a homing missile at all visible enemies within a large area, dealing damage based on distance.”
Additionally, Gene has two Star Powers:
- Magic Puffs – “Gene heals all friendly Brawlers around him per second.”
- Spirit Slap – “Gene’s Magic Hand also damages enemies, dealing 2000 damage on hit.”
Furthermore, Gene can use the following gears in battle:
- Speed
- Vision
- Health
- Shield
- Damage
- Gadget Cooldown
*These guides do not mention any Epic or Mythic Gears, as Supercell plans to remove them all throughout future updates.
Brawl Stars Gene Guide – Recommended Star Power, Gadget, & Gear Setup
Firstly, for Gadgets, we recommend Lamp Blowout because it can be a lifesaver in many situations. Furthermore, Vengeful Spirits is just plain awful. With Lamp Blowout, you can push away an oncoming assassin, giving you and your teammates time to take them down.
Secondly, for Star Powers, Spirit Slap is the preferred option. It makes Gene’s Super much more useful and gives him a chance to survive many encounters. Magic Puffs’ healing is pretty slow and it requires Gene to hover around his teammate, which isn’t always a great idea. With Spirit Slap, Gene can pull an enemy, damage them, and then use Lamp Blowout to push them away.
Lastly, for Gears, we like to use a Damage and Shield Gear. We tend to recommend these gadgets for most brawlers because they provide both offensive and defensive boosts.
Brawl Stars – Which Modes Should You Use Gene In (And Which Modes You Shouldn’t)
Brawl Ball
Gene’s Super is very useful in Brawl Ball. Overall, he provides a nice support role, using his Super to break walls, pull enemies away, and prevent enemies from healing with his long-range main attack. The range of his main attack makes it easier for him to charge his Super, which can be game changer in regular or overtime.
Gem Grab
Gene’s Super is very useful in Gem Grab, as he can use it to grab an enemy gem carrier. It can turn the tide of a match sometimes, as a brawler with 11 gems may get pulled by Gene at the last second. Furthermore, his main attack’s long range may make it easier to charge his Super and prevent enemies from healing.
Knockout
Gene’s main attack isn’t great, but his Super can be useful in Knockout. Essentially, he can single out an enemy, pull them with his Super, and have him and his teammates gang up on him. But that method may backfire if nobody’s on the same page, leaving Gene alone with a Nani, Edgar, or some other dangerous brawler.
Brawl Stars Gene Guide – What Mode(s) Should I NOT Use Gene In?
Solo Showdown
Gene is absolutely terrible on Solo Showdown. He deals very little damage, meaning it’ll take a long time before he can take down any boxes, not to mention Brawlers. Even if he does charge his Super, it’s not enough to take enemies down. Besides, all you’ll be doing is pulling a brawler closer to you who will likely be more equipped to take you down.
Heist
Gene’s low damage output obviously makes him a bad choice for Heist. Even for defensive purposes, all he can do is pull an enemy away from the safe for a moment. But the main reason he’s bad for this mode is simply because he deals very low damage.
