Bo Bichette drops ‘extreme’ admission amid Mets’ 8-game losing streak

The New York Mets have been on the struggle bus as of late, currently losers of eight straight games after a loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. While injuries have certainly played a role in New York’s shortcomings, it’s still been an extremely frustrating open to a season that was filled with championship expectations for the Mets.

One of the many Mets who has underperformed so far this year is key free agent signee Bo Bichette, who recently got 100% real on his state of mind amid the losing skid.

“It’s surprising, but you go through these things. Maybe this is a bit extreme, probably. It doesn’t help facing two of the best in the game the last two days,” said Bichette, per SNY on X, fomerly Twitter. You could be swinging the bat well and run into those guys and they’re kind of like a buzzsaw.

I don’t really got much to say other than can’t explain it and we’ll keep on working to figure it out.”

The Mets most recently lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 8-2, completing a series sweep in a rematch of the 2024 NLCS.

New York has fallen off significantly since the heights of that surprising playoff run, missing the playoffs altogether in 2025 after signing Juan Soto to a historic contract in free agency, and stumbling out of the gates thus far in 2025.

Soto is currently out of the lineup due to a calf injury, but Mets fans will likely not be taking that as a legit excuse for their team’s struggles so far this season.

In any case, the Mets will look to get back in the win column when they next hit the field on Friday afternoon on the road against the Chicago Cubs.
