Bengals’ Andrei Iosivas fires ‘angry’ message at unhinged social media death threats

There is a lot to look forward to for the Cincinnati Bengals. Joe Burrow is on the field, throwing, and looks healthy, which is the best news of all. The NFL season is just about a month and a half away from things getting very serious.

During a media scrum in the locker room after workouts, Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas talked to reporters. Iosivas was asked about his mindset and focus, but also mentioned that past social media messages have upset him.

“I feel like last year I was in my head a little bit,” Iosivas said. “The situations were weird. I had those drops in those games, and people were telling me to kill myself and stuff like that. I never had that kind of stuff happen to me before, so it got in my head a little bit, you know, when people are in your DMs telling you to kill yourself. It makes me angry, honestly.”

We live in a social media world where people will say whatever they want with zero consequences. Sadly, athletes have to deal with childish and dangerous behavior on social media on a daily basis, and it will never change. This is the world that the current and new generations want, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Iovasis is only 26 years old and has been a great player during his three-year career with the Bengals. He plays behind two of the best receivers in the game, which is only going to benefit him in his career.
