Astros rumors: Ken Rosenthal drops big hint on Houston’s trade deadline plans
With the chatter around the Houston Astros and the trades the team could make with the deadline in a few months, the baseball world is wondering what the plans look like for the disappointing AL West squad. As rumors will continue to surround the Astros, this MLB insider would give insight into the perspective of the team.
Speaking on “Foul Territory,” Ken Rosenthal would speak on Houston, and despite the disappointing 31-37 start to the season, the team still has confidence that, in a struggling American League, the ball club could vastly improve. Rosenthal mentions the returns of Jose Altuve and Josh Hader to the lineup and how the team wants “to see how they perform over the next six weeks.”
“This team, in this league, the American League again, is not going to concede easily, and I don’t necessarily see them conceding at all,” Rosenthal said. “They do need to upgrade the outfield; they do need to work at some other areas as well. But Hader is back now, Altuve is back now, they want to see how they perform over the next six weeks or so before addressing what might be some needs. I’m sure they’re out there looking and exploring the outfield market, but again, I don’t know that I expect anything to happen really quickly.”
Even at 31-37, @Ken_Rosenthal doesn't expect the Astros to concede.

The Astros are confident in improving
One conversation that people in the baseball world were talking about was the possibility of the Astros trading star slugger Yordan Alvarez, which was answered in a straightforward manner by general manager Dana Brown. Besides shutting down those types of talks, Brown would share his confidence in Houston having a “strong shot” at the AL West.
“We’ve gone through some injuries, but now other teams are starting to feel some of the pain that we felt, right? And so we feel like we have an opportunity to win the division and go deep into the postseason. So we’ve had zero discussions internally with our baseball operations about moving Yordan,” Brown said on Monday, via MLB.com.
At any rate, the Astros are fourth in the division at 31-37.
