AEW star Darby Allin got married and fell on thumbtacks at the same event

Just a day before his high-stakes steel cage match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV, Darby Allin tied the knot with Sara Erickson. The wedding ceremony and reception took place in Seattle, Washington, and were attended by several AEW names.

Multiple AEW talents were in attendance, including MJF, Tony Khan, Brody King, Swerve Strickland, Alicia Atout, Thunder Rosa, and Steven Borden Jr., in addition to Sting and Diamond Dallas Page.

What seemed like a normal wedding at first soon took a wild turn like Darby Allin stuff usually does. In the clips going viral on the internet, Allin and Brody King were seen chopping Allin’s father in the chest while also slamming another man on tacks. In another video going viral, Darby Allin was seen getting slammed on thumbtacks by his own mother on the same day as his wedding.

Earlier this year ahead of AEW Double or Nothing, Allin had revealed that he proposed to Erickson while he was at the top of Mount Everest in May. 2025. Allin further revealed that the couple has known each other since meeting in high school and caught up years later through Instagram when she saw him doing crazy things.

Allin later competed in the 12-man steel cage match at Forbidden Door. He teamed up with Mark Briscoe, Konosuke Takeshita, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly against MJF, Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and Andrade El Ídolo. Briscoe’s team won the team while Briscoe earned himself an AEW World Championship match against MJF next week.
