Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce launching Kenneth Walker III stock to moon

The Kansas City Chiefs made some big moves during the 2026 offseason. Kansas City added Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III during free agency and drafted Mansoor Delane during the 2026 NFL Draft. Those picks could help the Chiefs get back to the playoffs after their disappointing 6-11 season last year.

Walker has already made some important fans within the organization. His teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce both hyped up the running back in a recent article.

Mahomes praised Walker’s ability to create big plays out of nowhere. That is something Kansas City’s offense lacked last year, especially in their running game.

“Make a play out of nothing to a 20-yard gain,” Mahomes said. “That’s going to be the biggest impact I think we’ll have.”

Meanwhile, Kelce seemed to suggest that Walker can do it all at the running back position. If Kelce could build a running back in a lab, the result might look exactly like Walker.

“Ken Walker is going to be a hell of a ballplayer for us, if you didn’t know that already,” Kelce said. “He’s got every trait you can possibly want at the running back position.”

Walker logged 221 carries for 1,027 rushing yards and five touchdowns during the 2025 season. He should make Kansas City’s rushing attack more dangerous than it has been in quite a few years.

But Mahomes is also pleased with how great of a teammate Walker has already proven to be during training camp.

“You can tell he truly cares about football; he cares about his teammates,” Mahomes said. “If he’s not in the play, he’s helping the guys on the sideline, and he’s trying to learn and ask me questions.”

It will be exciting to see how Walker changes Kansas City’s offense during the regular season this fall.
