Why Vikings clash is ‘like a home page’ for Packers’ Tucker Kraft

Tucker Kraft is back, and he’s ready to wreck havoc again. After his breakout 2025 season was cut short with an injury, the Green Bay Packers tight end is ready to pick up where he left off. Kraft will be making his 2026 debut in Week 1 against a familiar foe: the Minnesota Vikings.

Playing in Minnesota is doubly special for Kraft. The Packers tight end said that a lot of his personal fans and family members live near the area, so it feels like a quasi-home game for him. Here’s what Kraft had to say about playing in Minnesota, per Vince Lovergine.

“I’m excited to get back to Minnesota, because for me it’s kind of like a home game,” Kraft said. “It’s a short drive for a lot of my personal fans, followers and family. Just getting an opportunity to play in an atmosphere like that. The Banks is a real fun place to play in. I remember as a rookie, soaking it in the first time. Them doing the Skol and Kirk (Cousins) has his shirt off while his kid is banging the drum.”

Kraft has played in two games in US Bank Stadium as a member of the Packers. In his rookie year, he caught all six of his targets for 48 yards in a win for Green Bay. His second showing in Minnesota was quieter (three targets, two catches, 53 yards), but he did record his first touchdown in Minnesota in that game. The Packers narrowly lost that game against the Vikings.

Kraft was unable to play last year in Minnesota due to an ACL tear he suffered in the middle of the season. Prior to his injury, the Packers wide receiver was on pace to have a breakout campaign. In just eight games, he caught 32 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns. Had he not suffered an injury, Kraft could have finished among the top tight ends in the league.

Now, Kraft will make his return to the field in front of a raucous Vikings crowd with some of his biggest supporters in the crowd.
