What Robert Kraft said about Rob Gronkowski’s induction into Patriots’ Hall of Fame

After playing in the NFL for 11 total seasons, nine with the New England Patriots, and widely regarded as one of the best tight ends in league history, Rob Gronkowski is finally in the Patriots’ Hall of Fame. On Wednesday, owner Robert Kraft shared kind words about Gronkowski’s induction.

The franchise congratulated the four-time First-Team All-Pro on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after his induction was officially announced. Gronkowski, who turns 37 in May, is the 33rd player to be inducted into the Patriots’ Hall of Fame. There are now 38 total individuals in the organization’s HOF.

“Congrats, Rob Gronkowski,” exclaimed the Patriots’ social media account.

Robert Kraft shared a statement about Gronkowski’s achievement, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. The 84-year-old franchise owner credited Gronkowski, not just for being a brilliant player and fan favorite, but for how great a person he is as well.

“Rob Gronkowski’s performance on the field was extraordinary, but it was his infectious energy and consistently positive presence that truly set him apart,” said Kraft. “He always brightened everyone’s day. He earned the respect of coaches and teammates through his work ethic, preparation, and unselfish approach, while redefining what it meant to play his position.

“Rob became a fan favorite almost immediately and remained the standard at tight end for nearly a decade,” continued Kraft. “We look forward to celebrating his induction into the Patriots Hall of Fame and, in time, the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”

Rob Gronkowski ended his career with the 10th most receptions (621), sixth-most receiving yards (9,286 receiving yards), and the third-most touchdown receptions (92) among tight ends in league history. He won four total Super Bowls, three with the Patriots, and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while also being a five-time Pro Bowler.
