What Dodgers’ Max Muncy said about his injury scare after exiting Brewers game
Los Angeles Dodgers star Max Muncy exited the team’s 5-1 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday after getting hit by a pitch. Muncy seemingly wanted to stay in the game, but he was removed from the contest. The veteran infielder addressed the injury concern after the ball game, via SportsNet LA.
“Not feeling great right now but it is a relief. We just gotta monitor the next couple days,” Muncy said. “Typically, especially in that area, the X-rays never come back positive immediately, it kind of forms a little bit. I’m pretty sure it hit half my wrist pad and half my wrist… That’s kind of what I was feeling. So I think me deciding to wear that wrist guard last couple years, it might have saved my wrist, at least tonight.”
The Dodgers are certainly hopeful that Muncy will not have to miss too much time. They will proceed with caution of course, but Muncy has performed well in 2026.
The 35-year-old is hitting .258/.363/.515 across 48 games played. He has also recorded 12 home runs and six doubles. Los Angeles features an extremely talented ball club, but the lineup has endured ups and downs at times. Muncy has been one of the more consistent producers this season.
The Dodgers will look to bounce back on Saturday following Friday’s defeat. The Brewers have performed well in recent action, so this series in Milwaukee will prove to be a challenge. First pitch for the contest on Saturday is scheduled for 7:15 PM EST in Milwaukee.
