Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum had a setback with entertaining his international fanbase in China.

Tatum is preparing for the 10th campaign of his career in the league. Last season was significant as he rehabbed a torn Achilles he suffered during the 2025 playoffs. He returned in March this year as he showcased solid performances for a superstar going through the prime years of his career.

Tatum is having his first full offseason of not having to worry about Achilles rehab. He is having camps across the globe to where his fans are most prevalent, travelling to China as a result. However, his results left a lot of room for improvement when it came to giving highlights for the aspiring fans.

What lies ahead for Jayson Tatum, Celtics next season

Jayson Tatum looks to have a big campaign, especially as he stands alone as the face of the Celtics ahead of next season.

Tatum was resilient last season, taking part in 16 regular-season games with his return from Achilles rehab. He averaged 21.8 points, 10 rebounds and 5.3 assists in those contests. In the playoffs, he produced 23.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game.

Boston exceeded expectations as they finished with a 56-26 record, securing the second seed in the Eastern Conference standings. However, they blew a 3-1 series lead and lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games during the first round.

The Celtics had plenty of questions to answer when it comes to improving their roster. This was certainly the case after trading Tatum’s co-star Jaylen Brown to the 76ers for Paul George. They landed the players they wanted in the draft and signed in free agency, preparing for the start of training camp in the fall.
