This Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson comparison will catch fans’ attention

Former WNBA guard Sydney Colson joined Yahoo Sports Daily to make an interesting comparison between Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson.

Both Wilson and Clark are two of the most popular players in the WNBA and draw very polarizing opinions about their play. Colson, who played for the Aces in 2019 and 2022 to 2024 (when she won two championships) and for the Indiana Fever in 2025, compared the two.

“You gotta wanna be great. You have to wanna get better. See whatever the holes are in your game that people try to exploit and find a way to fix that. I think they both put in a tremendous amount of time making sure that you’re taking care of your body. Watching what you eat, taking a lot of time to find the proper resources, the proper people to get you in shape, to get you mentally ready.

She added, “Just really taking advantage of everything that you have at your disposal to become better. And using the off-season too. Using the off-season to put time into the holes I spoke on before and fix whatever it is in your game that you feel like needs work, and then come back the next season and find a way to no longer make it a weakness.”

Wilson and Clark are set to play on Team USA during the FIBA World Cup over the next few weeks, then could potentially face off against each other in the WNBA Playoffs. The Fever have won two of the three matchups against the Aces this season.
