Packers’ Josh Jacobs incident report reveals disturbing details that led to arrest
The Green Bay Packers are still waiting to see what the league will do with Josh Jacobs, as he was arrested in May after getting into a physical altercation with his girlfriend. He was originally booked on five charges, but now it’s been reduced to just a misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property.
The full incident report was recently released regarding the incident between Jacobs and his girlfriend, which says that he threw her to the ground.
“Jacobs grabbed her and threw her to the ground and she struck her head, suffering an injury. Jacobs then took her phone from her while she was on the ground. ANM laid on the ground for a while and then struggled to walk back into the house,” the report stated.
Though the league hasn’t done anything yet, there is still a good chance that he’s suspended for a certain number of games, especially with the report out in the public. Until then, Jacobs is free to practice and play in the preseason with the Packers.
The team seems to be preparing for Jacobs to miss some time, as most of the snaps during training camp and the preseason have gone to MarShawn Lloyd. General manager Brian Gutekunst was recently asked if the Packers would have a plan if Jacobs is suspended and if they would keep an extra running back on the roster.
“We could. You usually keep 3 or 4 running backs, and I think we have enough to do that,” Gutekunst said.
Jacobs will be going into his third season with the Packers. Last season he finished with 929 yards and 13 touchdowns. In 2024, he finished with 1,329 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.
