Vikings troll Mike Vrabel with sneaky ‘Russini Juice’ bit for schedule release

The Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini scandal was seemingly fair game for every team in the league during the schedule releases on Thursday. The Minnesota Vikings were one of the few teams (possibly the only one) to take that chance and troll the New England Patriots’ head coach.

Minnesota is scheduled to take on New England in Week 14. In the schedule release video, the Vikings shared a list of ingredients to make “TikTok cookies,” while displaying that they will be facing off against the Patriots. One of the ingredients was named “Russini Juice,” and was so subtle you may have missed it. It is the ingredient second from the bottom of the list.

Vikings Week 14 schedule release vs. Patriots

While the Vikings poke fun at their Week 14 opponent, head coach Kevin O’Connell is preparing his team to bounce back in the 2026-27 campaign after finishing last season with a 9-8 record and missing the playoffs. While the club still owned a winning record, it was a bit of a down year for the franchise.

The JJ McCarthy experiment didn’t go quite as planned after the front office let Sam Darnold walk in free agency, who, by the way, went on to lead the Seattle Seahawks to a Super Bowl win. This offseason, the Vikings signed Kyler Murray to a one-year, $1.3 million veteran minimum contract, and he is expected to step in as the starter for next season.

The upcoming 2026-27 campaign seems to be a pivotal one for Minnesota. While the team has played successfully throughout most of O’Connell’s tenure, the Vikings just haven’t gotten over the hump to make a serious run in the playoffs. Maybe this year will be different.
