UFC star slams Dana White in viral rant against Scottish fighter as Paddy Pimblett called out
Renato Moicano was furious with the UFC after emphatically stopping Chris Duncan in Las Vegas this past weekend.
The top-ranked UFC lightweight submitted Duncan in the main event of UFC Vegas 115 at Meta Apex to score his first win since September 2024.

Moicano, who unsuccessfully challenged Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title last year, got the better of Duncan in round one and dropped the Scotsman early in the second with a stern left hand.
The 36-year-old jumped on his opponent’s back immediately, unloading hammer fists before working his way under Duncan’s chin and attempting to lock in a rear-naked choke.
Duncan, with blood leaking from his nose, tried his best to prevent Moicano from locking in the submission, but eventually succumbed to the choke moments later and tapped out.
It was one-way traffic throughout the headliner in Sin City, and Moicano had plenty to say after his win.
Moicano: I want famous opponents
After threatening to retire in a post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, if he didn’t get ‘somebody easy in the rankings’ next, Moicano continued his antics when addressing the media.
“It’s not that I don’t want to fight upcomers,” he explained when asked about his comments.
“But the business is I’m making money outside too… [my opponent] needs to have some hype.
“Because look, Chris Duncan, I took that fight because I was on a two-fight skid. But he’s not famous; nobody knows him.“
Moicano then sent a message directly to his bosses about future matchmaking.

“This Apex card was f***ing s***,” the Brazilian from Brasilia added.
“Dana White, don’t listen to that. But, you’re having Moicano as a main event in the f***ing Apex.
“Are you kidding me? And who is f***ing Chris Duncan? That fight doesn’t add to my career.
“It doesn’t add to my YouTube. I think it should be a fight that I can promote like [Brian] Ortega, Paddy Pimblett, Dan Hooker, maybe Benoit Saint Denis.
“Somebody that the fans know, that’s what I’m saying. Some guys are very good, but nobody knows them.
“It’s not about winning and losing, it’s about getting the most hype, people talking about you, because this is the business.”

Having cemented his status in the rankings at lightweight with his win against Duncan, Moicano will now likely face someone above him next.
Pimblett, the No. 6-ranked fighter at 155lbs, is a serious option for the Brazilian next.
When is Pimblett coming back?
Pimblett hasn’t fought since being outpointed by Justin Gaethje in an interim lightweight title fight at UFC 324.
‘The Baddy’ went to war with Gaethje, who is now headlining the UFC White House card against Ilia Topuria in June, but fell short despite his gritty performance.
After rapidly overcoming injuries sustained from eye pokes during his bout with Gaethje, Pimblett is now ready to make a comeback.
The 31-year-old is targeting a return during the UFC’s International Fight Week, with UFC 329 set to take place on July 11 in Las Vegas.
