Tottenham in talks to sign Savinho and Omar Marmoush as Man City’s asking price for pair revealed

Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to sign Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush, talkSPORT understands.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side are in talks with their Premier League rivals over the attacking pair.

Although any potential deal is yet to be finalised, discussions between the clubs are advancing with City prepared to sanction move for both players if the north London side are prepared to stump up around £150million.

It comes after Savinho was left out of the matchday squad for City’s Community Shield defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Marmoush did make a cameo appearance during the second half, though, as his side fell to a 3-0 defeat.

talkSPORT revealed last month that Savinho had informed City of his desire to join Spurs after their previous interest a year ago.

Talks over the winger have been ongoing since the early stages of the summer transfer window.

Savinho signed a new deal at the Etihad Stadium in October through to the summer of 2031.

Meanwhile, Marmoush was signed from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

The Egypt forward has since scored 16 goals in 62 appearances for City across all competitions.

Spurs transfer plans

Spurs’ interest in Savinho and Marmoush comes as City look to fund their own midfield revamp.

Enzo Maresca’s side are seeking sales as they pursue potential deals for Ayyoub Bouaddi and Enzo Fernandez.

Cody Gakpo also remains a target for Spurs, who would prefer to sign all three of their current prospective additions.

However, the Netherlands man is currently the toughest of the trio to negotiate unless Liverpool sign a new attacker of their own.

Spurs have already spent over £200million this summer on deals for Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi have also joined the club on free transfers ahead of the new season.

talkSPORT verdict

Spurs’ move for Marmoush comes after they were urged to bolster their goal threat with a new striker.

Speaking on the latest episode of talkSPORT’s Inside Spurs, Sonny Snelling explained: “I’ve been quite harsh on Richarlison. I compared him to a shovel about this time last year.

“I don’t think he’s the perfect striker for what De Zerbi wants. I think that is Solanke. I think Solanke would be the perfect striker, but he can’t stay fit. Another injury picked up in pre-season.

“If we sign Gakpo, I think he comes into the club as probably our best finisher. I really do and that sums up our front line.

“The fact that you’re not getting too many goals from the players who are already there. I think Mohammed Kudus is due for a good season when he’s back from injury as well.

“But to me, the way that goals are probably going to be spread around this team you don’t necessarily need a player who’s going to get 20, 25, 30.

“I don’t think we’ve got the finances to really go out and sign an [Victor] Osimhen on wages like that.

“So if you get in a player and him and Richarlison, or whoever, can fight out for that starting spot and they get 10 goals each or 15 then you’re in a good place there.

“That’s why I’ve seen a lot of people sort of warm to the idea of Nicolas Jackson because he does get a goal return.

“He can be quite wasteful, but the amount of chances we’re going to get, it will hopefully finish a few. So maybe that is a viable option.”
