Travis Kelce’s ‘Last Dance’ retirement plans with Chiefs leaked as new physique revealed

The end could be near for Travis Kelce.

But one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history could also win his fourth Super Bowl ring during his ‘Last Dance’ season.

Kelce has faced retirement questions the last two offseasons.

He answered the last round of queries by announcing that he was returning for his 14th (and potentially final) pro campaign, then turning Madison Square Garden into a wedding with Taylor Swift seen around the world.

But training camp is approaching for Andy Reid‘s Chiefs and Kelce must get back into prime NFL shape for Week 1.

A recent photo shared by Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter only heightened speculation that this could be Kelce’s final season.

“(Trainer) Andrew (Spruill) and I started with Travis before his rookie year in the NFL,” Carter posted on Instagram.

“Know the (GOAT) is preparing for THE LAST DANCE. Next stop Canton/HOF.”

Kelce, 36, signed a one-year, $12 million deal to return to the Chiefs in 2026.

That figure could rise to $15m with incentives.

The former Cincinnati star has 11 Pro Bowl selections, four first-team All Pro honors and 13,002 career receiving yards.

Kelce appeared upbeat and eager for the NFL’s return in the image shared by Carter, who is now Florida Atlantic’s football director of player development.

“Travis is looking leaner and fit,” one fan posted.

“Oh my goodness,” a second fan wrote. “This just made me start to cry when I read the words ‘the last dance.’ I hope and pray that Travis has one of the best years he’s ever head as his swan song. I hope the whole team obviously gets to the mountain top.”

Carter spent 16 pro seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins.

The strong and speedy wide receiver totaled 1,101 receptions for 12,899 yards and 130 touchdowns, while finishing his career as the NFL’s second all-time leading receiver.

He then moved into broadcasting and appeared on HBO’s Inside the NFL, ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown, and FS1’s First Things First.

Kelce hasn’t confirmed that he is retiring after the 2026 season.

But it’s already obvious that a fit and primed No. 87 will be needed if Patrick Mahomes is going to return to the Super Bowl after a major knee injury.

Kelce’s star QB is also trying to reach No. 1 in the QB rankings.
