Was only a nose behind Diego Ventura at Hamilton last time out earlier this month but has something to prove upped from 1m to 1m2f. Despite that he’s the big favourite of the field having not raced on the all-weather before either, so there are some question marks.

Per Contra has a few positives coming into this, placing behind Opportunity is good form at Carlisle in May, yet he’s down another pound since then.

He’s won over course and distance before and is 2-3 on the all-weather, seemingly thriving on this surface in comparison to turf but is 1-1 over this distance on the artificial ground.

El Matador

Placed just a neck second when carrying top weight at Lingfield in April on his sole all-weather trip.

Has been placed in each run since this season including over 1m which makes him appeal a lot at this huge price.

Dosman also has a few things going for him and his form at Newcastle is both good and bad, always going close but never winning.
