Thunder’s Alex Caruso issues blunt message about harsh playoff reality
OKLAHOMA CITY — After Game 2’s 122-113 win against the San Antonio Spurs, tying the Western Conference Finals, 1-1, Alex Caruso explained why there is no room for trepidation at this level of competition. While Isaiah Hartenstein helped the Thunder to victory, containing Spurs All-Star Victor Wembanyama, Gilgeous-Alexander’s game-high 30 points put the finishing touches on Oklahoma City’s victory.
After the win, Caruso, the Thunder’s two-time NBA champion, delivered a line that embodies the defending champions’ mindset amidst their Western Conference Finals series against the Spurs.
“It’s that time of year,” Caruso said. “If you’re not fearless, then, you’re probably gonna lose and go home”
